Counter Effects Solid Surfaces Care Instructions
Routine Care
Routine daily care and maintenance of Corian® is relatively easy. Soapy water or ammonia-based cleaners will remove most dirt and stains from the countertop. However, there are certain techniques that should be used to remove the more difficult stains. However, if you are unsure, do not hesitate to call Counter Effects and one of our technicians will assist you.
Heat and Other Damage
Even though, Corian® is quite resistant to heat, you should always use a hot pad or a trivet with rubber feet to protect your countertop. Beware of the heat generating appliances that are also used in your home. (e.g. fryers, steamers, etc) These appliances should not placed directly on a Corian® countertop. It could cause damage to the surface.
Additional guidelines to keep in mind are:
Do not cut directly on Corian® countertops
Avoid exposing Corian® to strong chemicals,
such as paint removers or oven cleaners, acetone based nail-polish.
. If contact does happen, flush immediately with water.
Stains and Burns
Nicks, scratches and cuts are inevitable
with any high-use product. Because Corian® is solid all the way through,
it's easy to renew it to its original state.
Most
minor scratches can easily be repaired with a light abrasive cleanser
and use of product like Scotch-Brite pad.
You
can hand-sand the area with 400-grit wet and dry paper. Wet the
surface before starting.
If
none of these options work for you or you are unsure about what to do,
do not hesitate to call Counter Effects and a representative will be
happy to help you.
